A new year, a new expansion and a new raid for us and our friends in Knights of Retribution to tackle.
Admittedly, our first run had lots of ups and lots of downs. More specifically, our repair bills were up and
Noth and Heigan were downed. But it was still good.
Two bosses on our first night doesn't seem like a lot, but I think we were all in good spirits. The fights in
Naxxramas have lots of gimmicks and co-ordination challenges. So I think that two new gimmicky bosses downed
for the first time in one might is an excellent start. And something very good to build upon.

Zul'Aman, Day One
Our first foray into Zul'Aman was a success! We got Nalorakk on our second try and Gally got some new boots!
Everyone that attended was the winner though, with 20 slot bags for all! With our time running out, we made it
to the intense Eagle Boss fight, where we learned why one shouldn't stand outside in a thunderstorm.
Still, for our first go at Zul'Aman, I thin we did very well. My congratulations and thanks to everyone that
made last night's run the first success of many.

The Karazhan Trifecta -- Aran, Illhoof and Prince Downed!
Last week's raid on Karazhan was just phenomenal. What started off on Tuesday with
Attumen, Morores, Opera, Curator and Aran killed (first for us on Aran!) ended with
Illhoof, Chess and yes ... Prince Malchezaar. Three new bosses in one week ...
you guys are just awexome!

When did Raiding Become Easy?
Tonight's raid on Karazhan was truly exceptional. We moved swiftly through the place,
carving up trash and downing bosses with ease. Last night's raid was the first time
we defeated the Wizard of Oz event. Never before have we gone from "Uh Oh ... what will
we do now?" to "This is so easy!" so quickly.
High from our success (and possibly some other things ... I don't want to know ...) we
decided to proceed and face the Curator. The third time was the charm as the
Hélianthe manoeuver proved greater than the Curator's excessive politeness.
Congratulations to everyone that took part!

For the Alliance!
Our old friend Luxlusis has proposed that we flex our collective muscle with some
sure-to-be-awexome PvP by sacking the Crossroads. Watch low level Hordies gaze
upon our splendor, only to be struck down because they were too busy gazing to notice
the stealthed rogue closing in upon them...
The raid is scheduled to start on Monday, Oct 22, at 5:30 server. If you're looking
forward to come good times on vent and something different in-game, I encourage you
to come and join us.

Karazhan 2: Electric Boogaloo
The Casual Raiding world is on notice. On Oct 9, Dawnbringers returned to Karazhan to lay some
much needed smackdown on the place. Our return to Karazhan sent Attumen the Huntsman to the
big happy hunting ground in the sky. I hope that we can build on that success, and show those
bosses that they should just give up as soon as we zone in.
Guild Bank
Thanks to more work by Noesis, we have most of the guild banks online. You can check out
the current holdings of the banks by clicking on the Guild Bank link to the left. Items in the bank
are broken down by category, so it should be easy to find out what we have.

The 2.2 patch seems to have removed everyone from custom chat channels. If you've been
wondering why there's no one chatting on FriendsOfDB, it may because you aren't in that
channel anymore. So "/join FriendsOfDB", and spread the word to your friends
that may be interested in joining the channel.

An Update, or a Reasonable Facsimile Thereof
Please accept my apologies for not updating the front page in a while. Life always seems to
find new and creative ways to occupy my time.
Guild Roster Updated
Noesis has spent some time updating the Roster page. Check it out by clicking on the Roster menu.
If you'd like, you can add extra info about your character's professions and quests by
downloading the Character Profiler mod. Check out Noesis' post "The Roster and You!", in the
Chat (General) forum.
As an aside, there seems to be a way to tie-in information on the Guild Bank into the Roster. My first
few attempts at doing so haven't worked out so well. But, with continued perserverance, and maybe
a manual or other instructions, we can get that working.
A Return to Karazhan
Regarding Karazhan, I have good news and bad news. The good news is I think that we have enough
people Karazhan attuned to head back there and have some fun and success. The bad news is I don't
know what days are good for you guys.
I've created a thread in the Raid forum called "Karazhan State". Basically, it lists the characters
that are Karazhan attuned and gives us a way to try and figure out when we can get ten people.
Plan B is to use my Magic 8 Ball to try and determine a date to go to Karazhan. So, if you don't like
the idea of raiding on *shakes Magic 8 Ball* "Reply hazy, try again", let us know what time is
good for you.

Guild Meeting: Friday July 27, 6:30 PM Server
The events of last weekend have left most of us shocked. When I read about what happened
in the forums last weekend and when I saw the guild roster Monday evening, I know that all that
I could see was the loss of so many friends and guildies.
I have always believed that a guild is a group of friends that have come together to play
and have a great time together. Dawnbringers began as a guild comprised of friends that
know each other in real life, and it has expanded since then. As we made new friends in
the game, so too have our ranks grown.
In terms of guild progression, Dawnbringers has never been in any danger of setting
a realm first. Simply put, we aren't hardcore raiders and we aren't hardcore PvPers.
I believe that we are better than that. Dawnbringers has something very unique to
offer; something that guilds that are downing bosses in Hyjal and the Black Temple do
not have and can not have.
What that thing is very hard to describe. It's one part craziness, one part syrupy waffles,
and ten parts kick-ass guildies, both in front of and behind the keyboard. Whatever you
choose to call it (I call it awexomeness), it's something that we have as
Dawnbringers and that no one else does. It's what convinced you to click the "Accept"
button when you saw a window inviting you to Dawnbringers. The awexomeness that
we share is something that I hold very dear.
A Meeting of Friends
If you've got awexomeness flowing through your veins or if you're suffering
from awexomeness withdrawl, I encourage you to come to a meeting this Friday.
I'd like to talk to and hear from you on where we are game-wise, and where you would
like to go. Together we'll decide what next week will bring.
This Friday, July 27th, at 6:30 PM server, let's get together on our vent server, put
our heads together and hope that we don't have a large headache Saturday morning.

Monday Night Escapades
So, after a weekend of unparalled success in Karazhan, we decided to keep that
momentum going by visiting Medivh's .... Curator. It turns out that in life, Medivh
had some nice statues that required the care of a curator. After a few attempts,
during which we were amazed at the presence of such a thing and its excessive
politeness, we eventually killed the Curator. Apparently it's vulnerable to being
smashed repeatedly.
With the Curator out of the way, we thought that we'd exercise our intellectual
muscles by challenging the spirit of Medivh to a game of chess. During this game, we
learned two important truths about chess. And raiding.
Don't stand in the fire.
Nothing beats rock.
So, all in all, it was a good way to spend an evening.

More Karazhan Success
It took a bunch of attempts, but with perserverence we were able to down Moroes and
his crew. That fight was a real challenge, and I'm looking forward to it again.
After Moroes, we thought we'd swing by the Opera House and take in a play. We arrived
a bit late, but with enough time to see the last scene of Romulo and Julianne. It had
such a tragic ending .. two ill-fated lovers that met their untimely end when it was
revealed that they had epics.
And now ... a Karazhan Request
I know that we've been making good progress into Karazhan, but I do have a concern.
Simply put, I'd like to see all interested guild members Karazhan attuned. If you're
already attuned, great! Run Shadow Labrynth or Black Morass with a fellow guildie
so that everyone can see this cool instance.
~ Guild Master Raimen Winner of the Loafsaber Award for Most Deaths in a Single Raid, with 22
Attumen Downed!
Our initial raid on Karazhan was a success! Sure, there were a few deaths here and there.
But all-in-all it was a blast. I know that I had a great time, and I'm looking forward
to the next time I can raid with the guild.
Once we covered the basics of raiding (cloth healers should stand FAR AWAY from bosses)
mobs started dying at alarming speed. I'm sure that everyone in the raid is now Friendly
with the Violet Eye, and are well on their way to a happier, more uber life.
Member's Image Gallery
I've managed to decode the message that I found crumpled up in my mailbox. The message
showed me where to find a map, and the map lead me to the Everlight, DB Site Trainer.
For only 5 gold pieces, I could become a Journeyman Website Guy. Well .. who could turn
down that offer?
And for only 10 more gold pieces, Everlight tought me a new skill, Update Member's
Image Gallery. I'm going to need your help to get more points for my new profession.
To help, simply read the How To page in the Gallery section of the website, and then
send me your images!

Return to Casual Raiding: Karazhan
During the past few weeks, a lot of you have been working on getting your Master's Key.
And why? So that Moonrunner's most Awexome guild can make its triumphant return to
casual raiding -- Burning Crusade style.
So that's what we're going to do.
Friday, May 11th will mark our first Karazhan raid. Hopefully it will also mark our
first Karazhan boss downed.
If you are attuned for Karazhan .. great! I hope to see you on Friday. If you aren't
but you'd like to be, we're still here to help.
Featured Images
Everlight was kind enough to explain to me (using only the smallest of words) exactly
now the Featured Image works. Now I know how to update the tiny image that you see
to the left, as well as the page that it goes to when it is clicked on.
So ... if you have a recent image of a recent guild accomplishment, or guild zaniness,
that you think is "featured image worthy" send it to my kickass new email address:
raimen@dawnbringers.com.
If possible, please zip the images up before you send them so that my inbox doesn't
cry out in pain. Also, if your Photoshop skill is 225 or higher and you'd like to
show off a little bit, go ahead. A warning: images will be resized down to 600 pixels
wide for display on the web page.
My next project is to figure out Everlight's instructions for updating the member's
image gallery. If I can figure out how to do that, I'll update the appropriate pages
and let you know that the gallery is back in business.

Dawnbringers to Karazhan: We're Coming!
I wonder what this button does ... it updates the front page? Nice!
The Burining Crusade has come. We have travelled through the Dark Portal,
endured lag, completed quests and kick ass as we always do. So what's next?
Boobies.
I mean ... Karazhan, of course! Karazhan is the first of the many raid instances
available to us in the Burning Crusade. Alderan has created two threads in the Raids
forum so that we can figure out who is attuned for Karazhan. More importantly,
these threads allow us to figure out who else is at the same place as we are, so we
can get our keys.
When will we make our initial entry into Karazhan? That depends on when we have enough
people with their Master's Key. We will need ten people, all with their own key, to
be able to enter and succeed in Karazhan.

TWAS THE RAID BEFORE CHRISTMAS
'Twas the raid before Christmas and all through the guild,
Each toon was STILL asking, "Which spec should I build?!"
Some gnomes were hung up by the chimney with care,
Cuz Tarathiel thought they would look better there.
The noobs were all nestled, caught up in Deadmines
While visions of endgame all danced through their minds.
And Gimm in some Felheart and Iggy with sword,
Had just settled in to bash P.V.P. Horde.
When outside I.F. the guards gave a yell
We sprang from B.G., just to see what the hell.
The Dawnbringers gathered outside in the cold
From founding guild members to newly enrolled.
When what to our wandering eyes should appear
But Santa Claus specc'ed out for holiday cheer!
His gear was all epic, his level elite!
His deer mount on fire, his sword frickin' sweet!
"O Dawnbringers, your tales of triumphs abound.
I just heard of all the bosses you've downed.
Why some of them are the most tough of the game!
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name...
Downed Gandling, Downed Geddon, Gahzranka and Garr,
Downed Drakkisath, Kurinaxx, Rend, Balnazzar.
Arlokk, Ony, Shazzrah (though barely alive),
The Beast and The Baron's inane forty-five.
For Frostwhisper, Luci and Lord Valthalak,
I bring you phat loots!" Then he opened his sack...
For Craigster a morph that turns targets Corvettes.
For Ulleb a charm that makes Tauren your pets.
For Lightsey and Chris, steroids to build rages,
And just for Noe, one less nerf for the mages.
For Fera's new tree form, a pretty pink blossom.
For Peacesyne he added +15 to awexome.
For the tank known as Gracy, the head of poor Ony.
Loafsabre for Balnor, winning roll just for Omi!
For Lief and Luxlusis, P.V.P. rewards.
For Ryvina, two sharks, to dual-wield as swords.
Cupid arrows for Amber to make her pets happy,
Maple syrup for Tara to make him more 'sappy' (*rimshot*)
For Everlight tanking, PALLY-ONLY, plate gear.
For Phlix, Vurt and Gprime a five minute Fear.
For Alderan and Stump, one thousand resist.
For Matt the engineer, a robotic fist.
For Gimmick and El, engineering that sells!
For Ook all his Auras gained wonderful smells.
For Aric, Veline, Raimen, a treat unsurpassed:
They each could now rez a whole raid with one cast!
Every guildie got something, no one left to appease.
Purple epics were plenty, so were O.M.F.G.'s
For each guildie present, was a happy Dawnbringer,
Cuz Santa let each of us come out a winner.
But a certain Guild Master still stood there without.
(It's pitiful seeing a dwarven tank pout.)
"Best for last," smiled Santa, "You've no need to worry."
And out from his bag, Santa pulled Thunderfury...
But with strings... and a pick... and a little amp too?
Santa pimped it full out, for a rocking debut!
A legendary guitar? Iggy was in heaven!
With decals and whammy and knobs to eleven!
Igg spoke not a word, and went straight to his wailin'.
His riffs were so thick, like an Iggy Van Halen!
His quest now complete, Santa summoned his steed
And away from I.F. he flew with great speed.
And I heard him exclaim as we basked in our riches,
"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU DAWNBRINGER BITCHES!"
